INFORMATION AND TIPS FOR THE ROAD





Before planning your route and deciding on your packing list, ask yourself the following questions:


  • How much time you have available to do the Camino.
  • How you are going to do the Camino: On foot, on horseback, by bicycle..
  • What time of the year are you going to do the Camino.
  • What is your age and state of physical preparation.
  • If you have any illness, disability, old age..
  • Luggage: Forget about large backpacks. Advisable from 3 to 5 kg. maximum. On the Camino you will find everything you need.
  • Credential or Route Diary.
  • Don't forget: Documentation, water or isotonic drinks, sunglasses, hat/cap, raincoat, comfortable boots, well-groomed feet and wooden walking stick.

100 kilometers on foot.
200 kilometers on horseback.
200 kilometers by bicycle
Once you have decided the starting point, you must be ACCREDITED with a CREDENTIAL. The Credential is basic, to be welcomed in the Refugios and Albergues, where you will be stamped.

You can obtain it at: In the Refugios, in the Associations or Brotherhoods of the Camino de Santiago and in certain Churches.
